Dr. Adalbert Balog is a
Professor at the
Department of Horticultural Engineering,
Faculty of Engineering and Humanities,
Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania.
He serves as Vice-Rector and
Academic Program Coordinator
for the Plant Protection (Plant Doctor) MSc program.
Education and Academic Degrees
He began his university studies at
Babeş–Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca,
where he obtained a B.Sc. in Biology (1997),
followed by an M.Sc. in Ecology (1998).
He earned his PhD degree
at the Department of Entomology,
Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration
(currently Szent István University),
graduating summa cum laude in 2003.

- Studies of aphids and their predators in GMO crop systems
- Apparent competition among aphid species

in aphids - Rapid host-plant adaptation in aphids induced by predator presence
- Assessment of non-target organisms in GMO cultivation systems
